ABOUT YOUR ADVOCATE
Rachel Schmidt, MS, Ed.S, Ed.D knows the struggle parents can face when navigating their child's education, especially Special Education programs in the public schools. Originally from Mandeville, Louisiana, Rachel has always wanted to be an educator. Her first few years included teaching ELA in Iberia parish, where she obtained Highly Proficient status among her administrators. Rachel was also consistenty ranked with high LEAP scores in the in the area of ELA and has a passion with finding methods that work for each student. Dr. Rachel Schmidt was offerd a position as a Special Education teacher and it was at this point that her passion for helping students with disabilities in the classroom really took off. Fast forward, Rachel has also served as an Assistant Principal and an IEP Facilitator. These two roles have opened Rachel's eyes on what parents need.

A VOICE! A voice for both parents and teachers to help each student who has an IEP the chance to be successful in the classroom. Because of this, Rachel decided to continue her work in the field of special education with her dissertation and become a private advocate for parents and guardians in the state of Louisiana. At The IE Pilot, we believe that every student deserves a high-quality education that meets their unique needs and abilities. My approach is to work closely with parents, teachers, and school administrators to develop individualized plans that help students succeed. I provide a range of services, including educational assessments, IEP reviews, and advocacy services. My goal is to empower parents and teachers to be effective advocates for their students and to ensure that each student has the support they need to achieve their full potential!
